Laverty to oversee global marketing for Brickell City Centre and its EAST, Miami Hotel.
Swire Properties Inc, one of South Florida’s leading international developers of real estate, announced that Clare Laverty has been appointed assistant vice president of marketing and public relations for Swire Properties and Brickell City Centre, the landmark $1.05 billion mixed-use project on schedule for completion beginning end of 2015.
Also director of marketing for Swire Hotels, a division of Swire Properties Ltd, Laverty relocated from Hong Kong to South Florida to oversee the overall marketing, public relations and advertising strategies of Swire Properties Inc, including the $1.05-billion Brickell City Centre, one of Miami’s largest mixed-use urban developments. Along with her new position, Laverty will continue her role as director of marketing for Swire Hotels, where she oversees global marketing for the company’s Asian & US hotels and restaurants.
Laverty will play an instrumental role in launching Swire Hotel’s first US property, the EAST, Miami Hotel, which is set to open winter 2015. This will be the third hotel under the EAST brand, after the successful openings of EAST, Hong Kong in Island East in 2010 and EAST, Beijing at INDIGO, Beijing in 2013.

Laverty brings to Swire Properties more than 13 years of brand communications, marketing and advertising experience in the media and communications industries. Prior to joining Swire Hotels in 2007, Laverty held advertising positions at RKCR/Y&R and Lowe London in the U.K.
Originally from the U.K., Laverty received a bachelor of science from Royal Holloway, University of London.
Swire recently announced a notable mix of retailers joining Brickell City Centre’s 500,000 square-foot shopping center, including Valentino, Chopard, Cole Haan, Harmont & Blaine, Illesteva, OndadeMar, Pubbelly Sushi and Pasion del Cielo. Many of the project’s towers, including its two office towers, two condominiums, and the EAST, Miami Hotel, will be completed end of 2015, with the retail center set to open fall 2016.
