Barbontin to direct the operations management and facility services of Brickell City Centre, Miami’s largest mixed-use urban development.
Swire Properties Inc, one of South Florida’s leading international developers of real estate, today announced that Jorge Barbontin has been appointed general operations manager of Brickell City Centre.
Formerly holding the title of group property manager with Hines Interests LP in Miami, Barbontin will oversee the strategic planning of all facility and management operations for the $1.05-billion mixed-use development, Brickell City Centre.
Barbontin has previously directed the operations, management, leasing, and marketing of several high profile facilities in the South Florida market. Among these were Miami International Commerce Center and most recently, Airport Corporate Center.

Barbontin brings to Swire Properties more than 22 years of operational and management experience. Prior to joining Swire, Barbontin oversaw property management teams for Hines in South Florida. Previous to that, Barbontin was the managing director at Heitman Properties, where he led a team through the sale of a $200 million-plus facility.
Barbontin has an undergraduate degree in business management from St. Thomas University and an MBA in finance and international business from the University of Miami.
Swire Properties signed Saks Fifth Avenue as the anchor tenant of the shopping center last year. All towers at Brickell City Centre have topped off, including the two condominium towers REACH and RISE, with REACH close to sold. The $30-million CLIMATE RIBBON™ is nearing completion and EAST, Miami is slated to open this year and will be Swire’s first hotel in the United States.
