Swire Properties Inc., South Florida’s leading international developer of urban real estate, has selected Americaribe, Inc. and John Moriarty & Associates of Florida as the construction management team that will build the luxury shopping center, two residential towers, hotel, serviced apartments, wellness center and Class-A offices at Brickell CityCentre. The building construction contract is estimated to be worth nearly $500 million.
Swire selected the Americaribe, Inc. and John Moriarty & Associates team to administer the contract based on Americaribe’s expertise in constructing large-scale multifaceted international projects and John Moriarty & Associates’ knowledge and understanding of the local market. Americaribe Inc. is the local subsidiary of the French construction company Bouygues Bâtiment International.
“It was important for us to select a team that delivered the most competitive schedule and met Swire’s high standards for Brickell CityCentre,” said Christopher Gandolfo, senior vice president, Development for Swire Properties. “We believe this team, which brought together the best resources of two well-respected companies will build a project that will redefine urban living in Miami for decades to come.”
Brickell CityCentre is the largest private-sector project currently under construction in Miami, encompassing 5.4 million gross square feet and spanning South Miami Avenue from Eighth Street to Sixth Street.
Americaribe, Inc., and John Moriarty & Associates of Florida will be responsible for constructing Phase 1 of Brickell CityCentre: approximately seven acres of mixed-use development, which will include a luxury shopping center, two residential towers, a hotel, serviced apartments, a wellness center and office. All components of Phase 1 will be constructed simultaneously with completion scheduled for fourth quarter 2015.
